Five photographs from a body of forty-five. Tokyo, August 2026.

Conveyed means two things: carried, and communicated. For three weeks I was moved through a city I could not read — crossings deciding when I walked, escalators setting the pace, instructions painted on the ground in a language closed to me. Nothing here is a destination, and no plan survives it.

“Once, in a gallery, I sat down to get off. The table had a street printed into it. I am in one of these pictures, at the end, holding a camera in the dark with neon written over my head. I left it in. A witness who doesn't enter the scene is still a passenger.”
