Seat 11C 2026

The Tokyo–Kyoto shinkansen. Two hours and fifteen minutes. Window seat, left side, row 11.

This zine documents what can be seen, felt, and noticed from a fixed position in motion — the landscape passing at 285 kilometres per hour reduced to fragments: light on glass, stations blurring, the geometry of overhead cables, the brief appearance of Mount Fuji.

Shot on Leica MP with Kodak Tri-X 400 during multiple journeys between Tokyo and Kyoto in 2026. The photographs were never made with the door open — only through the window, from the seat.

Self-published in 2026 in an edition of 77 copies. Each copy is hand-numbered. Printed on Ise Washi paper.

The images on this page did not make it into the final sequence — unresolved, omitted, or deliberately left behind. They exist here as the work outside the work.
