The Same Path 2026 — ongoing
A single walk. Repeated across every season.
From Grantchester village, south of Cambridge, along the River Cam, through the meadows, past the weir, across the fields, into the city — and back. Roughly six kilometres each way. The same route, the same ground, the same light at different hours and in different weather.
The project began from a simple observation: that we travel far to photograph what already exists nearby. This work turns that urge around.
Shot entirely on Leica MP with Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 and Kodak Tri-X 400 film. No digital. No colour. The grain is not a style — it is the texture of time spent in one place across many months.
The walk includes: the Grantchester meadows and their swans, herons, and cattle. The River Cam in all seasons — frozen, flooded, calm, and dark. The iron footbridge. The boathouses. The ancient trees. The approach to Cambridge — its brick streets, punts, and spires. King's College Chapel seen from the path. The return.
Shooting continues until December 2026. The final edit will be made in early 2027—publication and exhibition to follow.
