Iceland on film
I first set foot in Iceland in 2014, carrying my black-painted Pentax Asahi SL. Strangely, all that remains in my archive are the 35mm film frames—grainy, imperfect, but alive. They spark a nostalgia I find myself missing more and more, a kind of realness that feels rare these days.
Since then, I’ve returned at least six times. On my last trip, I told my family, “It won’t be long before we no longer recognise the untouched soul of this island.” These photographs are from the north—around Husavík and Akureyri—a reminder of what still feels wild.

Photographed by Slawo Urban, exploring memory and landscapes through Leica and 35mm film. Photography is not just about images, but about holding onto what time will soon erase.
